Southeast & Armed Services YMCA

Serving the Community & Military Families

The Southeast & Armed Services YMCA opened in 2002 to serve the Colorado Springs Southeast community and military families. We reach out with programs that best support the community’s needs. Our goals for 2015 are:
•Promote the health and well-being of youth and families with a focus on addressing obesity concerns
•Support family stability with an emphasis on the changing dynamic of families in the military community
•Create community and inspire health and vitality in our senior population

National Armed Services YMCA 2015 Art & Essay contest

PARENTS and TEACHERS!
Have you encouraged the Military Kids you know to enter the annual Armed Services YMCA Art and Essay Contest?

Prizes for the winner of each category include an Apple iPod touch or Apple iPad. Winners of both the art and essay contests will have their winning entries displayed at 33 Armed Services YMCA Branches and affiliate locations, as well as military bases worldwide during Military Family Month in November 2015. The contest is open to all eligible children of U.S. active duty or retired service members.

The ASYMCA annual art and essay contest allows children to express their love, appreciation and admiration for their military heroes. It encourages them to creatively and artistically illustrate what being a part of a military family and the military community means to them. In many ways the contest also serves to remind us of the sacrifices our men and women in uniform, and their families –especially military children, make each day for our country.

DEADLINES ARE QUICKLY APPROACHING!

Art contest deadline: March 15
Essay contest deadline: March 13
