Swim, Sports & Play

For over 110 years the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region has been the leader and innovator for aquatics and aquatics programs.

Swim Lessons

The Y pioneered swimming instruction for the public. The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region teaches over 3000 children how to swim each year. Our instuctors provide a caring, supportive environment with a variety of classes for ages 6-months through adult.

Parent/Child Classes

Parent/Child Classes are offered for children ages 6-months through age 3 accompanied by a parent or other trusted adult. The classes provide a friendly way for children to become comfortable with water and practice the basic skills that will prepare them for swimming.

Ages 3-years-old and up

For ages 3 through adult the Y offers full progression of fun and safe swim lessons. Our specially trained instructors teach children, as well as adults, to gain confidence, have fun, and develop skills in positive way.

Your Safety

Our lifeguard's not only go through a rigorous training process, they have a third eye that never blinks—Poseidon. Poseidon is the world's first and only computer-aided drowning detection system. It uses advanced computer vision technology to help lifeguards monitor what is happening in the pool, and alerts them in seconds to a swimmer in trouble. With Poseidon in place, lifeguards increase their chances of saving a life. You can have a peace of mind of knowing there is constant and vigilant surveillance of the swimmers in your Y pool. Ask your Y lifeguard for a demonstration!

Youth Sports

Everybody Plays, Everybody Wins!

YMCA Youth Sports builds strong kids, strong families and strong communities by allowing each child the chance to play at least half of each game without the pressure of competition or tryouts. Children at the YMCA learn that sports are fun!

Skill development and healthy lifestyles are emphasized along with the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Come join our team!

Volunteer Coaches Needed!

Come join our team! No experience is necessary. The YMCA provides the training you need. If you are interested, download a Volunteer Coach Application and turn it in to the appropriate YMCA branch location.

Registration Information

Team rosters are placed in time slots for which practice space is available. We recommend registering your player using our online registration. Coaches commit to teams throughout the registration season. The number of players on a team varies by sport and, in keeping with our "everybody plays" philosophy, teams may not be over-filled. Registration fee must be paid in full to reserve a spot on a roster. Please be aware that a $10 fee will be applied in the case of a cancellation.

Team Sign-ups

The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region welcomes teams to sign up collectively. We encourage parents or coaches that have a pre-determined team to call or e-mail the Sports Director to establish practice times and locations.

Late Registration

While registration deadlines are established to give the YMCA sports department the necessary time to develop game schedules and coaches meetings, we do accept late registrations. If you have missed the registration deadline, please call to determine whether space still exists on teams.
